Any resident of Salem or Perry Township who has a need for a home-delivered meal is eligible, regardless of income or age.

There are three delivery schedule choices:

  • 5 days: Monday through Friday
  • 3 days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Customized weekday delivery upon request

Deliveries can be provided on a short-term or long-term basis. To receive credit for a canceled meal, call the office by Thursday at noon the week before. In the event of a medical emergency, meals will be credited and held until you call to resume. Meals not canceled within this timeframe will be delivered and billed as scheduled.

Each delivery is $7.00. Each delivery includes one hot meal and one cold meal. Payment is due monthly and billed one month in advance.

Price increases to $8.00 beginning January 1, 2027.

Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM by local volunteers.

Meals are not delivered on weekends. Holiday closures include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. When a holiday falls on a Thursday, meals will also not be delivered on the following Friday.

People living outside Salem and Perry Township are referred to other home-delivered meal programs in the region.

Two meal types are available: Standard (a balanced everyday meal) and Diabetic (lower-fat, lower-calorie with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains). All meals are no salt added. Individual modifications cannot be accommodated except for allergies.

To receive credit for a canceled meal, call the office by Thursday at noon the week before. Cancellations received after Thursday will result in a charge for that meal, though we may not deliver it if we know the client will be away. In the event of a medical emergency, meals will be credited and held until you call to resume service. Call 330-332-2160.

You can submit a service request online at salemmobilemeals.com/signup or call the office at 330-332-2160, Monday through Friday between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Staff will confirm your schedule, meal type, and first delivery date.

Meal delivery cannot begin the following Monday unless your request is received before Thursday at 11:00 AM. Requests submitted Thursday afternoon, Friday, or over the weekend cannot be processed for the upcoming week. Please plan accordingly and contact the office at 330-332-2160 as early in the week as possible.

Volunteers typically serve two to four days per month. Deliveries run from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and routes take about two hours to complete. To apply, visit the volunteer page or call 330-332-2160.
